On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, the United Nations was host to the Forum Discussion on Sustainable Tourism. The event convened to address the crucial role of sustainable tourism in achieving the 2030 Development Agenda, adopted by 193 member countries of the UN General Assembly. Organized by the United Nations Staff Recreation Council’s Communications and Technology Club in conjunction with the Mission of Solomon Islands to the United Nations, the event was produced by David Mladjenovic of Public Private Partnership Organization.
This forum facilitated dialogue among between government leaders and private sector representatives from the tourism industry and featured a special presentation from the World Bank Group’s Atlas for Sustainable Development, highlighting best practices in sustainable tourism. Speakers included distinguished representatives from the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau and SH Hotels & Resorts.
